I is for Integrity

One of the most important characteristic that Christ checks in us and appreciates is us being faithful with integrity. I am always reminded of the way Daniel stood loyal to God in times of adversity. Even when he was thrown in the lion’s den and was left to die for he didn’t stop praying to his God, he did not let go of his faith or integrity. As a child Daniel had the option to be groomed into one of the most responsible positions in the kingdom and yet he chose to give up the food offered to the idols and withheld his integrity. Many children from the Jewish captives did that and we see such good testimonies later on.

The story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, the three pious Jewish youths thrown into a “fiery furnace” by Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, when they refuse to bow down to the king’s image according to chapter 3 of the book of Daniel. The three are preserved from harm and the king sees four men walking in the flames, the fourth like “a son of god”. God himself came down in his full power to comfort his believers in their time of tribulation.

What we need to see here is that God didn’t stop them from being thrown into the fire nor did he change the king’s mind but chose to be with them in their momemnt of need and help them. He was testing their integrity and they came out winners and unharmed. If you are in a tough situation now, may be God is testing your patience an integrity. Do not give up yet and wait for a miracle. For he loves a loyal soldier and a strong believer and will definitely deliver.

Nice to find your insightful blog.

I have heard teachings about the fiery furnace before. I love how the three young men determined ahead of time to remain strong in their faith, whether God chose to rescue them from the furnace or not. That’s integrity – for sure.
