The Bible says that the joy of the Lord is our strength (Neh. 8:10).
Strength is power. Strength is emotional toughness and resistance. Strength is defensive ability. Strength is effectiveness to succeed and achieve. Strength makes you progressively better. We offer this type of sacrifice singing melodies, dancing, reciting psalms, and declaring aloud those things that are not as though they are, smiling, laughing, clapping our hands, and rejoicing in what the Lord says about us.
We can lift our heads high as our Lord God is a god who keeps his promises and is worthy of Praise. When the psalmist claims that the Lord has his strength around him and lifts his head high despite all the defeats and losses in the battles of life, there is no looking back. When you are God on your side, who can be against you? Who can stand and fight the Lord? Our Lord is the Lord of heavens and the Earth and all that is in it and has control over everything. When you put your trust upon the Lord, the Lord takes it seriously and would protect you like a shield against all the harmful darts and arrows of the enemy lest nothing touch you.
When David was asked to wear the armour of the warriors before fighting Goliath, he said, I am not used to all this but will trust my Lord and God and he will deliver me. Such blind faith comes only from experience when David killed the lion and the bear when defending his father’s sheep. The strength also comes from his experience and bonding with the Lord on a personal basis. Have a bond that is strong, personal, alive and real with the Lord and nothing can touch you. Our Lord is a living god and is faithful. praise be to his name.
